THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW KINDERGARTEN IN SMEDEREVO STARTED

The construction of a new kindergarten in Radinac near Smederevo started today with the laying of the foundation stone. The ceremony was attended by the First Vice-President of the Government of Serbia and the Minister of education, science and technological development, Branko Ruzic, as well as the Mayor of Smederevo, Jovan Bec.

“The new kindergarten in Radinac is the 11th facility on which we are starting work with the support of the World Bank. I believe that this is the best way, not only to provide conditions for greater inclusion of children in preschool education and care, but also to provide support for parenting, because we are erasing waiting lists and enabling parents to leave their little ones for care and education in an adequate space, while they are dedicated to their work duties “, said Minister Branko Ruzic.

The mayor of Smederevo, Jovan Bec, thanked the competent Ministry, as well as the Government of the Republic of Serbia for their support and emphasized that this will solve a long – standing problem of the city and that the facility will primarily be intended for children from the territory of “25 Maj”, Radinac, Ralje, Lipa and Vranovo, where about 7,000 inhabitants live.

The new building will cover about 1,600 m2, about 169 million dinars will be invested in its construction and equipment, and the reception of children is expected in 12 months, in August 2023.
