After media campaign Acceptance that aimed at promoting acceptance of diversity from an early age and developing an inclusive societywas launched in November 2019, in March and April 2020 campaign Support, whose main message relates to the irreplaceable role of parents and foster parents in child development, comes on the scene.

The media campaign begins on March 23, and in addition to the TV spot Support that will be broadcast on nationally TV stations, the campaign will also be conducted on online portals and social networks.

The scenes of the TV video Support was filmed at the premises of the Sanjalica and Ježurak kindergartens in the municipalities of Palilula and Čukarica.

As part of the ”Inclusive Early Childhood Education and Care” Project, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, in the second grant round, almost 74 million dinars were allocated for projects of 14 other local self-government units: Bela Palanka, Vladimirci, Vranje/Vranjska Banja, Velika Plana, Zitoradja, Krupanj, Knjazevac, Odzaci, Prijepolje, Ruma, Smederevska Palanka, Sombor, Titel, Cacak.

The grants are awarded with the aim of improving the accessibility, quality and conditions of pre-school education. Funding and implementation of these projects will provide significant gain for all children between the ages of 0 and 6.5, with a focus on those from vulnerable groups.

The municipality of Sid, one of the 20 local governments in Serbia that was awarded a grant in the first round, showed how the funds can be used in a good way. Thanks to the dedication and work of the Office for Local Economic Development and the preschool Jelica Stanivuković-Šilja, the first results are here – the municipality of Sid received a vehicle for transporting children from rural areas. In this way, the children will be able to take an active part in the cultural and educational activities conducted by the Jelica Stanivuković-Šilja preschool.

In September 2019, 20 grants were solemnly delivered to cities and municipalities in Serbia at the conference Veliki ljudi od malih nogu. In addition to the municipality of Sid, within the first round, grants were awarded to the following local governments: Aleksinac, Barvarin, Vozdovac, Vladicin Han, Vlasotince, Zrenjanin, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Krusevac, Lebane, Leskovac, Merosina, Novi Sad, Palilula, Prokuplje, Smederevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Cukarica and Sabac.

Funding for these projects has ensured significant gain for all children and their families, the local communities, and state governments in charge of pre-school education.

Within the framework of the Inclusive Early Childhood Education and Care project, promotional poster materials were forwarded to more than 100 addresses of pre-schools throughout Serbia.

All kindergartens were sent two versions of the poster. The posters featured the lyrics of the song Veliki ljudi od malih nogu that we had the opportunity to hear in the performance of the choir Carolija as part of the TV and radio campaign Acceptance, which was realized in November 2019.

Some of the preschools have provided us with photos showing how promotional posters decorate kindergarten rooms.

In this way, in over 1500 kindergartens and preparatory groups, we conveyed the cheerful and playful atmosphere of this campaign. Take a look in our gallery.

The municipality of Sid, which was one of the 20 municipalities that approved funding for project in the first round of grant holders, received vehicles for the transport of children.

On Friday, February 28, Sanja Strbac Musmar, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, delivered the wan keys to the deputy mayor of the municipality of Sid, Zoran Semenović in front of the Cultural Education centre.

The municipality of Sid is pleased with the fact that the project with which we applied to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development was passed and rated as extremely good. Today we have a result of the good work of the Office for Local economic development and preschools „Jelica Stanivukovic- Silja“. The value of the van is four million and six hundred thousand dinars. The van will primarily serve to ensure that children in rural areas transport safely so that they can actively participate in cultural and educational activities conducted by the preschool Jelica Stanivuković-Šilja.

By mobilizing different actors and achieving co-operation between sectors in local community, the municipality of Sid has developed a quality project proposal for which funding has been approved.

As a reminder at least 30 local government units have been allocated up to 40.000 eur per local government (depending on the number of project proposals) to finance project in cities and municipalities.

These project aim to enhance coordination and cooperation between relevant actors in providing holistic and high quality preschool education services to parents and children from birth to 6.5 years old on the local level, with focus on the most vulnerable social groups. Local project activities will include areas related to health, nutrition, early screening for development disabilities and early stimulation and learning, as well as other areas.
