SVILAJNAC – OPENING OF 3 NEW WORK ROOMS IN THE VILLAGE OF KUSILJEVO
After the new facility admitting about 85 children had been constructed in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, the kindgergarten in the Municipality of Svilajnac was also furnished, all within the Project of Inclusive Preschool Education and Care, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation and partnership with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, and funded by the World Bank loan.
Thus 3 study rooms have been equipped in the village of Kushiljevo, and the number of included children is 85.
The rooms have been equipped so that they can accommodate two groups of children from 3 to 5.5 years of age and one group of preschoolers. Complete furniture and didactics for each room have been purchased in accordance with the New Education Framework. Also, in addition to furniture tailored to different age groups, furniture and equipment for younger children has also been purchased, in order to enable access to early education for all children on the territory of Kusiljevo.
The newly built facility contains three study rooms for children, a multifunctional hall, a kitchen, toilets, a room for educators and corridors. The gross area of the building is 542 square meters.
The facility was officially opened on September 1, 2021, and the children moved to new premises.
During 2018, the preschool institution managed to open 15 separate rural classes and in that way additionally keep families and children in the countryside.
In the previous four years, 120 babies were born in this village alone, which created the need to build a facility for preschool education, bearing in mind that the Central facility in Svilajnac did not have enough capacity.
The preschool institution “Children’s Joy” currently includes 533 children within 33 educational groups.
