13 WORK ROOMS IN THE TERRITORY OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF NOVI BELGRADE ARE FURNISHED – PU “11. APRIL” – KINDERGARTEN “ISKRICA” – BEZANIJSKA KOSA
As part of the project “Inclusive preschool education and Care” implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development in partnership with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, another 13 workrooms in the territory of the municipality of Novi Belgrade were equipped with a loan from the World Bank.
Novi Belgrade, one of the largest and most densely populated municipalities of Belgrade, is a modern urban municipality that is constantly expanding and receiving new residents who are oriented towards the search for new occupations, housing, education, aesthetic and social needs.
PU “11. April” is a place where 8,500 children live, learn and grow up together. The mission of this preschool institution is quality inclusive preschool Education and Care available to all children.
The settlement of Bezanijska kosa, as part of the municipality of Novi Beograd, is rapidly expanding. Although there are already two large combined kindergartens in this settlement, their capacities were not sufficient to meet the needs of an increasing number of young families for the inclusion of children in quality preschool programs.
For this reason, the City built a completely new facility, which has 13 work rooms, a kitchen, multifunctional halls, toilets, and rooms for educators, as well as a landscaped yard for outdoor activities. The plan is to form groups for all ages in this facility (3 younger nursery groups, 2 older nursery groups, 6 mixed groups, and 2 groups of preschoolers).
The capacity of this facility is up to 270 children, which will greatly reduce the number of excluded children.
In order for the facility to start working as soon as possible, the Novak Djokovic Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development, from the World Bank loan, through the project “Inclusive preschool education and Training”, allocated part of the funds and helped equip all 13 workrooms. All rooms are equipped in accordance with the needs of children, and educators and in accordance with the new basics of education.
In addition to the furniture that was selected and adapted to each age group, the facility is also equipped with new toys, carpets, lazy bags, easels for painting, books, and necessary consumables.
Over 200 new children of all ages have been enrolled in all thirteen new groups in the territory of the municipality of Novi Belgrade, from the youngest nurseries to preschoolers, and the rooms are equipped in accordance with the needs of our youngest residents.
